Western Michigan recruit Brett Beebe has been traded by the Waterloo Blackhawks to the Chicago Steel. Terms of the deal were not disclosed by either team or the USHL, but it's a safe bet that since no other players were involved that a draft pick or two was part of the deal.
Beebe is off the a very slow start to his season. In 7 games he has yet to register a point, and has been out of the line-up for the past few games. Though, to be fair, he wasn't recruited for his offensive play, but for his gritty physical play.
This is Beebe's second season in the USHL. Last season he had 5 goals, 4 assists for 9 points in 41 games and picked up 76 penalty minutes. Beebe is expected to see his first game action for the Steel this weekend.
